19-year-old sentenced for robbery and assaults

A 19-year-old Wilmslow man has been given an indeterminate sentence after pleading guilty to robbery and two assaults which he carried out in Macclesfield in one day.

Max Boswell, previously of Lime Walk, Wilmslow, was told at Chester Crown Court on Monday, 7th February, that he would have to serve a minimum of four years.

In the early hours of Saturday 2nd October lasy year Boswell carried out a robbery on a 19-year-old in Chester Road, during which he stole cigarettes and assaulted him. He then carried out a section 47 assault on a 21-year-old man in a house on Bond Street who was treated for head injuries.

Boswell then carried out a section 18 assault on a 39-year-old man in Pinfold Street. The assault resulted in the victim receiving several breaks to his leg and head injuries. He had to be sedated and spend time in intensive care.

Police arrested Boswell shortly after the final assault.

The investigating officer from Wilmslow CID, PC Alison Greenwood said: "This case demonstrates that those who are intent on violent behaviour will be brought to justice and dealt with robustly by the courts."
