Police are looking for three people who they believe may be responsible for two burglaries and an attempted burglary in Wilmslow. All three incidents took place in Grange Park Avenue over a period two weeks.

The first took place on 13th January between 7.20pm and 7.50pm. They gained entry through an unlocked side door, stole car keys and tried to steal an Audi A5 off the drive but left empty handed after they were disturbed by the owner. They were seen going off down Grange Park Avenue towards Styal Road.

The first male is described as white, slim, aged 15 to 20 years old with light brown hair. He is 5ft 6ins to 5ft 9ins. On the 13th January he was wearing a pale grey hooded top with the hood up, and dark trousers. The second male is described as white, slim, aged 15 to 20 years old. He was wearing a black anorak style hooded top and the third male is described as similar in height to the other two offenders and wearing dark clothing.

On 15th January between 5.30pm and 7pm they are thought to have struck again. The thieves went through an unlocked gate and entered the house through a side door which was also unlocked. They stole a laptop, a mobile phone and car keys to a BMW which they then stole off the driveway.

The last incident was on 20th January between 7pm and 8.20pm. The offenders tried to break in, unsuccessfully, through a locked door leaving marks on it. It is possible that this set off the house alarm at the time, which someone may have heard.

Over the same period of time there had also been a burglary in Manchester Road and the Pinewood estate.

DC Lucy Worthington said: "We would urge anyone who saw the three offenders, or anyone acting suspiciously in these areas over the past few weeks to get in contact with us.

"We would also advise that residents think about their home security and remember to lock their doors and gates, even if they are at home.

"Installing an alarm is also good prevention. Even the most basic will at least be audible. In most cases, the thief will panic when the alarm sounds and make off empty handed."

Anyone with information should contact DC Lucy Worthington at on 0845 458 0000 or pass information anonymously using the Crimestoppers number - 0800 555 111.
