Sing High, Sing Low!

P4181205

You may remember the mention of Cheshire A Cappella’s three week free singing course back in the autumn. It was a huge success and the lucky registrants learned two songs – Elvis Presley’s “Love Me” and Van Morrison’s “Moon Dance” resulting in the auditioning of loads of lovely new singers for this ever expanding sassy group of female singers.

Rather than wait until their next induction course in spring this year, the chorus is still actively looking for singers. But not just any old voice range. Specifically high and low voiced harmony singers, voice parts sometimes out of the normal female range.

The higher tenor part in A Cappella singing harmonises above the lead line and is a light and pure tone that complements the parts below. Angelic! The lower range singers in A Cappella have a rich, velvety bass voice that supports the other harmony parts above it.  Gorgeous.

Both ranges require vocal skill but can be taught to anyone with an average singing ability who can sing within these registers. Give it a try, you’ll love it.

Cheshire A Cappella meets weekly at The Morley Club in Wilmslow and competes in festivals and competitions at local and national level. So if you’re looking for a new challenge in 2011 and think you can sing high, low or somewhere between the two, Cheshire A Cappella might be the answer. By all means, come along and check us out before committing. We welcome newcomers all the time.

Our motto is Real Women, Real Harmony, Real Fun!
