Artisan farm shop hosts chocolate tasting

The Artisan Meat Company has started stocking a new range of ethical chocolate just in time for Christmas.

Pure Origin is made by Lee Molloy-Sherratt, 34, who lives in Wilmslow and studied Culinary Arts at The Hollings, Manchester Metropolitan University.

The range includes white chocolate made from 31% Dominican Republic cacao, milk chocolate made from 44% Grenada cacao through to their darkest chocolate made from 85% Columbian cacao.

Paul from Artisan said 'What struck me first, is Lee's passion for his art, very quickly followed by the delicious variety of tastes each of the chocolate treats heaped upon my taste buds.

Lee went through each individual chocolate and described it like a fine wine or malt whiskey.''

Lee told me "I launched my business about 4 weeks ago but I have been working on the products for quite some time. My chocolate contains some of the worlds finest cacao beans which produce a smooth, less bitter chocolate with superb flavour, and it doesn't contain any artificial ingredients or vegetable fats.

"The beans are ethically sourced with support being given to the local communities such as supporting small scale growers and local schools."

Lee is holding a chocolate tasting session at The Artisan Meat Company in Mottram St Andrew on Saturday 11th December from 3 o'clock, offering the opportunity to not only taste the chocolate but learn more about how it is produced.
