Balance life in the boardroom

A Wilmslow businessman is launching a new bar concept on Friday to cater for those wanting to find a balance between their work and social lives.

Colin McKeviit, 36, has purchased the Boca Restaurant and Bar on Bank Square, and will be turning it in to a bar cum office called theBoardroom.

Having previously worked as a Data Analyst at Manchester Airport and Hospitality Manager at Sales Sharks rugby club, Colin found himself spending a lot of time in coffee shops and in need of some office space.

Colin said "I considered leasing a premises in the town centre and selling second hand vinyl to cover the rent then I thought why don't I open an office that's also a bar where business meetings can be held upstairs. A lot of good business gets done away from the office because an office environment can often be a bit constrictive."

A robust wireless system is being installed and the upstairs function room, which can be booked for meetings for up to 40 delegates, will feature plasma screens, white boards, overhead projectors, printers, TV's and DVD equipment.

Meanwhile customers can relax in the downstairs bar where casual food and sky sports will be on offer.

Colin added "The community has needed theBoardroom for years, it's a venue to handle the ever growing blurred line that is the work life balance."

theBoardroom will open to public from about 6.30pm on Friday, November 26th.

Pictured holding theBoardroom logo is local Sale Sharks player Fergus Mulchrone, who is sponsored by theBoardroom.
