Russ Reason is missing from an address in Merseyside. He is in his early 40's and we understand he was last seen in Wilmslow on Monday.
Sergeant Steve Sheppard said "His car is distinctive - a purple Chrysler with flames on it.
"We now believe he is either in Manchester or in the Merseyside area but that doesn't mean he won't come back into Cheshire."
