The Wilmslow Business Group have revolutionised Christmas in Wilmslow this year by putting together a four day festival designed to bring energy and atmosphere to the town and support local businesses by encouraging people to come to Wilmslow to do their Christmas shopping. They also thought it would be a fantastic way to say thank you to all their customers who have shopped locally.
Entertainment at The Wilmslow Christmas Festival, which is being sponsored by Cooper Williamson and NTF Financial Solutions, will include a Continental Christmas Market, ice-skating rink and Santa's Grotto.
The Christmas market will be held from Thursday 25th November until Sunday 28th November with stalls located on the Alderley Road slip road, from Sainsbury's to the new Joules clothing shop, and on Parsonage Green, between Little Nut Tree Toys and Yang's Oriental Restaurant.
The Continental Market, have over 10 years experience with this type of market event across the country. There will be approximately 60 stalls selling a range of gifts, crafts and foods from European cheeses to Belgium chocolates, Italian wines to German bratwurst and French oils, characuterie, perfume and handmade soaps to Polish jewellery - providing a totally continental market, encompassing the flavours and delicacies from the European Union.
For the duration of the market there will also be an ice skating rink on Bank Square, which is being sponsored by United Utilities, and window dressers from Hoopers will transform the Romany Caravan in to a delightful Santa's Grotto. On the Friday evening, 26th November, the Christmas lights, supported by Cheshire East Council, will be switched on by celebrity guests on Grove Street. The switch on will be hosted by Imagine FM who are planning additional events throughout December in the run up to Christmas.

Opening times for the Christmas Market are: Thursday 25th - Saturday 27th -10am to 8pm and Sunday 28th - 11am to 3pm.
Opening times for the Grotto are: Thursday and Friday -2pm to 6pm, Saturday - 10am to 6pm and Sunday - 11am to 3pm.
Opening times for the Ice Rink are: Thursday and Friday - 12noon to 8pm, Saturday - 10am to 8pm Saturday and Sunday 11am to 3pm.
