Victoria's collection goes down a storm at London Fashion Week

A Wilmslow mother of two has showcased her contemporary ladies fashion label z-mode at London Fashion Week.

Lithuanian born Victoria Rangayah's beautifully crafted collection, with a focus on evening wear and contemporary tailoring, graced the catwalk on Friday, September 17th, as part of the 'A La Mode' show. Now in its' fourth season, the show featured collections from some of the most talented emerging and independent designers in the industry and attracted a range of press, celebrities and key industry people.

Speaking about her collection, titled She is not Alice!, Victoria explained "I wanted to create a character with an Alice feel, yet keeping her own identity. Something along the lines of twin sisters. They are so similar but yet have their own identity and personality.

"Itʼs about celebrating similarities and differences between them and finding a perfect balance keeping in mind simplicity, attention to detail and minimalism. Contrast and balance were the key factors in my collection. The amalgamation of a feminine vibe expressed through masculine shapes is the essence of z-mode label.

"I used a combination of pale golds, cappuccinos, tobacs and lattes with a dash of colour in a subtle tropical print. I also used unexpected trims such as shoe-laces to enhance the contrast and give this collection a slight, wonderland, feel."

Over 200 people attended the show, with tickets having sold out two weeks in advance and the organizers were even forced to turn away some press as the venue was over subscribed.

Victoria said "This experience was absolutely amazing. I still cannot believe I was a part of such an important event.

"I was very worried, as there were a lot of talented designers showing with me and I didnʼt know how people would react to my minimalism inspired collection. I was very pleased when I heard the audience cheer and the feedback has been very positive, I was pleasantly surprised and relieved.

"As you work on your collection for many many months you can easily find yourself feeling negative about your work. I tend to judge myself a lot and put high expectations on myself. Therefore, to receive a positive feedback from the press and see that people really like my collection truly uplifts my spirit and gives me strength to carry on.

After so many sleepless nights Victoria was hoping to have the chance to relax after the show but this is highly unlikely as she now needs to generate as much brand awareness as possible and continue to put z-mode in the public eye.

Victoria will be concentrating on getting a few boutiques to stock her label, so the z-mode collection is accessible to consumers , then after she gets her breath back she will be hosting a small fashion show for the local community.

"I was actually already planning it in the car on my way back home from London" added Victoria.
