Dance the ghosts away at KIN Halloween Party

Wilmslow based charity Kibera in Need (KIN) will be hosting a Halloween Party on Saturday October 30th to raise money for their projects in Kibera, Nairobi.

The event, their biggest fundraiser of the year, will take place at Alderley Edge Festival Hall with live entertainment from Cheshire band Undercover, DJ and licensed bar. Tickets are £20, which include a light supper and a prize will be awarded for the best costume.

The charity started by Phil and Estelle Goodwin of Broad Walk, Wilmslow provides a lifeline for children and adults living in the Kibera slum, an area of 2.5 sq. km in Nairobi, Kenya. The slum is home to 800,000+ people where houses are sheds with corrugated iron roofs, roads are tracks strewn with litter, sanitation is non existent and raw sewage spills over the pathways. The stench is apparently overpowering and disease is rife. Some 20% of children die before their fifth birthday and close to 60% of people living in the Kibera have HIV/AIDS.

Estelle explained "Monies raised are essential to keep the Guardianship Scheme running which enables children to have an education, regular vaccinations and hot meals. In addition a Business Support Scheme gives adult residents the chance to setup small businesses and be economically independent."

The KIN Halloween Party will be held from 7.30pm on Saturday 30th October at Alderley Edge Festival Hall. To book your tables of 8 – 10 or to request individual tickets, please email Estelle, call 01625 538902 or visit www.kiberainneed.org for further information.

KIN organise some great events and do fantastic work. Estelle and Phil and the KIN team deserve credit for their efforts.
KIN is a really is an excellent, locally run, charity. With practically zero UK overheads, it means every donation counts.
The business support micro-finance is exactly the sort of charity project local businesses should look at supporting.
Looking forward to the Halloween bash!
