The new syllabus for the Wilmslow Guild, has now been published offering a wide variety of classes, with something of interest for everyone.

Alongside the extensive range of art, craft, languages, history and fitness classes the lectures on offer cover a number of more unusual topics such as beekeeping, the Alexander Technique, birdcraft and viking archaeology. There are also a number of courses covering local history such as 'The rise and rise of Victorian Wilmslow.'

The 2010/11 season marks the 85th anniversary of the founding of the Wilmslow Guild which now boasts over 3000 members. With only four paid administrative staff, the Guild is run largely by volunteers who determine policy, and deal with enrolment and office administration.

Enrolment week is the 6th to 10th September, between 2.00 and 3.00 pm in the afternoons and 8.00 - 9.00pm in the evenings. The Guild advices members to enrol during this week otherwise you might find the activity full, however late enrolments will be accepted whilst there are places available.

New members are always welcome and membership is open to everyone aged 18 and above. Annual membership costs £7 and the new syllabus is available online at the Wilmslow Guild website or from Wilmslow library.

As an independent self-governing apolitical and non-sectarian organisation, the Guild presents a vibrant educational programme maintaining the Guilds original aims as founded in 1926 which are "To provide a centre in which men and women may find opportunities for the enrichment of life, through education, fellowship and co-operative effect for the welfare of the community."
