With the summer holidays long behind us, September marked a big step for hundreds of little ones across Alderley Edge, Wilmslow and Handforth and their families, as they embarked on a new adventure with their first day at school.
As the new term began the reception children sported their new uniforms to be greeted with big smiles by their new teachers and make new friends.
The teachers have been very impressed with the great start they have all made at school.
Clare Daniel, Headteacher at St Anne's Fulshaw CE Primary, said "Our new Reception children have had a fabulous start at St Anne's Fulshaw. They have toured the building, explored the grounds, met all the staff (including Cookie our therapy dog) and thoroughly enjoyed their first few days of learning and playing.
"We are absolutely delighted to welcome them into our family, as well as the older new starters joining further up the school. On their third day, they were even confident enough to stand up in front of the whole school and share the class rules that they had written together! We can't wait to see what they achieve this year."
Mrs Langford, Headteacher at The Ryleys said "It has been wonderful to see our new Reception classes make such a positive start to the year and be part of this special time. The children have demonstrated great maturity and curiosity in their approach to their new lessons and we are very proud of them."
Miss Platt, Deputy Headteacher and EYFS lead at Alderley Edge Community Primary School, said "We are so fortunate to have beenjoined by our wonderful reception children and their families. The reception children have made a great start to the academic year, settling well and developing special friendships to last through their primary years.
"The staff at Alderley Edge Community Primary School are really looking forward to seeing them excel academically and socially this year and beyond. We would like to thank all our existing children for helping the reception class and other children new to our school make a fantastic start to the academic year."
