A driver has been charged with drink driving having tested more than twice over the legal limit, following a crash on Altrincham Road late on Saturday evening.
Police officers became aware of a collision on the A538 at 11.33pm on Saturday, 4th February. The driver of a black BMW, which had flipped onto its side, was arrested on suspicion of drink driving. Fortunately nobody else was involved.
Peter Slattery, 34, of St Georges Close, Appleton, has since been charged with the offence.
Slattery has been released on bail and is set to appear at Crewe Magistrates Court on 23rd February
