Community group awarded £2000 grant for greening of Chapel Lane

Chapel Lane love the lane

Chapel Lane Love the Lane Community Group has been awarded a grant of £2,000 through Wilmslow Town Council's Green Community Fund.

The Green Community Fund is a grant scheme that was introduced during 2021 for projects that promote sustainable spaces, biodiversity conservation and /or 'Greening' the Town.

Chapel Lane Love the Lane will be using the funding to kick-start the Greening of Chapel Lane by securing trees within large planters positioned in the most central sections of Chapel Lane.

Transition Wilmslow representatives will be consulted for advice on the planting to ensure that it is biodiverse and supports insects and butterflies, in line with the Green Community Fund aims.

Frank McCarthy, Chairman of Wilmslow Town Council said "It is a pleasure to award a further Green Community Fund grant as it shows that community groups are keen to support the natural environment."
