Styal Running Club has completed its latest virtual Charity Challenge - by running 4360 miles from Styal to Doha, over 24 days.

reached the stadium just after 12 noon on Sunday, in time for kick off at the 2022 World Cup.

Over 70 club members took part, with some of the star runners completing over 200 miles each, reaching the stadium just after 12 noon on Sunday, 20th November, in time for kick off at the 2022 World Cup.

So far, nearly £1500 has been raised through the club's JustGiving page, which is going towards the Teenage and Young Adult Cancer Unit at The Christie to enable the teams to organise events to help make the experience of having cancer and its treatment more bearable for its young patients and their families.

Social Secretary and data cruncher David Clark kept the runners motivated throughout the challenge, updating them with daily totals, graphs and graphics showing progress.

He said "The way the runners at the club have risen to this challenge really has been something very special. There were moments where it looked like it wouldn't be achieved, but everyone really dug deep in the last few days to complete those extra miles. It was a first class effort for a great cause."
