Vacancy for councillor in Wilmslow Lacey Green Ward

f77edbe88912554ce33e2b5c73085174

A vacancy has arisen for a councillor in the Wilmslow Lacey Green Ward following the resignation of Simon Bullock citing family reasons.

Simon resigned on 20th December after serving less than a year on the Town Council, having been elected as the Residents of Wilmslow candidate in May 2021.

He, who works as a community based firefighter and lives in Styal with his wife and daughter, said "I cannot offer the role of councillor my full attention in which it deserves. Therefore it's best if I step aside so someone with more time can. Allowing me to focus fully on my family and future endeavours."

An election to fill the vacancy will be held if ten electors from the Electoral area give notice to the Returning Officer requesting such an election within 14 days (excluding Saturdays Sundays, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Good Friday or a Bank Holiday) of the date of the notice (10th January)

The address of the Returning Officer is:

The Returning Officer
Cheshire East Council
Westfields
Middlewich Road
Sandbach
CW11 1HZ

If no such notice is given the Town Council will fill the vacancy by co-option.

For further advice on procedure please call the Elections Office at Cheshire East Council 01270 685922.
