Sports club plans for new multi use games area

A local sports club is seeking planning permission to build a multi use games area at their grounds on Styal Road.

Wilmslow Phoenix Sports Club wish build the MUGA on an unused part of their sports field, running adjacent to the car park.

The facility provides all year round sports, mainly lacrosse, hockey and cricket as well as supporting local football, physical training, croquet and archery clubs and providing local schools with large sports grass facilities for sporting events.

The MUGA will be 27m in length x 9m width with an astro cushioned carpet area surrounded by a supporting 3m sports fence and lit by 6 LED lights. 

The application states "The proposed MUGA will include 6 LED floodlights, mounted on 4m supporting steel poles painted green to minimise there visual appearance. IP66 compliant Pierlite Huntsman Rugged floodlight with inbuilt protective guard cover."
