Five 'burglary tourists' from Chile due in court

Five men from Chile are due to be appear in court next month in relation to eight burglaries which were carried out in Cheshire during December and January.

A spokesperson for Cheshire Police confirmed "We currently have two cases going through court in Cheshire relating to burglary tourism."

The first case involves Jamie Duarte Vera (40) and Jorge Pinto Vallejos (27) who have both been charged with conspiracy to commit burglary with intent to steal.

The charges relate to five burglaries in Alderley Edge, Prestbury and Wilmslow which occurred between 16th and 28th December 2019.

The pair are due to appear at Chester Crown Court on Friday, 19th June for a plea hearing.

The second case involves Nicholas Orlando Carrasco Oviedo (23), Alexis Miguel Carrasco Oviedo (24) and Joel Ureta (42) who have all been charged with three counts of burglary and theft.

The charges relate to three burglaries which occurred in the Knutsford and Prestbury areas between Saturday 11th January and Wednesday 15th January.

All three men have since pleaded guilty and are set to appear at Liverpool Crown Court on Monday, 1st June for sentencing.

Chile?! I can't afford to get to Bognor, let alone a reciprocal burlary spree in Chile. Send 'em back, we've enough of our own ne'erdowells cluttering up the streets and prisons.
