2019 winning scarecrows announced

The winners of the 2019 Wilmslow scarecrow competition have been announced.

A shortlist of finalists in the scarecrow building competition were on display at the Wilmslow Dean Rotary stand at the Wilmslow Show on Sunday, 7th July.

These were judged by Angela McPake, Chair of the Wilmslow Show, and Khumi Burton Deputy Lord Lieutenant of Manchester - who stood in for MP McVey who had been delayed.

This year's winning scarecrow was a minion from The Home Library retailer and the winning school's scarecrow was Buzz Lightyear was from Lacey Green Primary Academy.

Both winners received a £100.00 cheque which will go to a charity or good cause of their choice. The Home Library have chosen to donate their £100 prize ito the Dementia Cafe in Wilmslow whilst Lacey Green Primary Academy have yet to decide which charity will receive their £100 prize.
