Plans for improved facilities at local cricket club

lindow

A local cricket club has applied for planning permission to extend its pavilion to provide additional storage and changing space.

Lindow Cricket Club, which is based off Upcast Lane, has grown steadily since it was founded in 1880.

To reflect the club's growth, provide a more attractive and secure location to store equipment, enhance changing facilities and improve the overall internal layout of the pavilion, they have applied to build a south easterly single storey extension.

The scheme will enable the club to replace the dilapidated storage sheds with enclosed internal storage areas for playing equipment and groundskeeping machinery. Additionally, the works will improve and enlarge the changing facilities for all members - currently only two changing rooms exist which are poorly segregated.

The plans can be viewed on the Cheshire East Council planning portal by searching for reference 18/4720M . The deadline for submitting comments is October 24th and a decision is expected by November 15th.

This club provides facilities, for old and young. The club, especially juniors, accommodates boys and girls and additional facilities are essential to ensure all people can benefit: the boys, the girls, the seniors, and significantly, the entire local community by encouraging teamwork, and fun in a safe environment for everyone.
Worth noting also that an enhanced clubhouse will encourage more bookings for parties, etc. which again benefits everyone

Wonderful news for a wonderful community cricket club that encourages inclusion for all. Facilities badly needed updating so well done to all those involved in helping bring this change about.
