Stanneylands Road to close for repairs

roadclosed

Stanneylands Road will be closed next week to enable Cheshire East Highways to carry out patching works.

The road will be closed from the junction with Manchester Road to the junction with Station Road and it is anticipated that the works will take place from Wednesday 15th August to Monday 20th August.

Pedestrian access to any premises situated within the temporary closure will be maintained at all times, whilst access will be maintained for emergency vehicles and residents where possible.

I am assuming that the start date is flexible and that this work will not begin until the other works on the roads which allow access to the north and east of Wilmslow are finished.

On the other hand, my assumption would be based on a degree of planning by those responsible - something which seems not to exist.

However, it may force the issue of parking on the pavement on Manchester Road to the north of the HJ traffic lights to be addressed.

I know that this is not as urgent as the Alderley Road issue but I think it is just as dangerous.

The parking on both sides of the road must be an obstruction - which seems to be the only thing which causes action to be taken.

Yes it might be the school holiday season but lots of residents are still working and need to travel.

Please but what is it about Cheshire East planning and north Wilmslow residents ?

Keep this up Cheshire East and we are going to be virtually landlocked.

Great to see some much need road surfacing in the area, small disruption for large benefit.

I live near this area and I wish they would resurface Stanneylands Road, rather than add to the patchwork quilt of pothole patches already there.

Would it not be more cost effective to do this? The amount of time and money already spent (never mind the inconvenience caused) surely can’t be much less than a total resurface would have cost.

Oh my goodness! What a mess has been made of Stanneylands Road. I hope everyone has good suspension. It is just awful!

Jon Newell, what fresh Hell is this?
The "HJ" traffic lights?
Surely the Bluebell traffic lights?
