Plans approved for new Water Lane restaurant and bar

Plan have been approved for the change of use of a retail unit on Water Lane to enable a new restaurant to open.

The owners of The Cheshire Smokehouse have been granted planning permission to change 44 Water Lane, which is currently occupied by White Stuff, to A3 use.

The scheme includes a restaurant and bar at ground, first and second floor levels along with an external seating area.

Prior to the White Stuff shop opening in November 2010, the unit was occupied by a wine bar and restaurant called Forty Four.

Smoke restaurant and bar will employ six full-time and six part-time members of staff.

The proposed opening hours are from 8am to 11pm Monday to Friday, 8am to midnight on Saturdays and 8am to 8pm on Sundays and Bank Holidays.
