A little boy with a big heart is taking on another big challenge to help poorly children.

Joseph Hibbert from Handforth, who turns 8 later this month, has been raising money for children's hospitals since the age of three.

So far he has run 7 races for charity and last year he swapped his running shoes for hiking boots to climb Ben Nevis, the tallest mountain in the UK, and raise over £6000 for charities.

Once again Joseph will be putting on his hiking boots to climb Snowdon the tallest mountain in Wales. He will be joined by six of his friends: William and Joshua Clark, Leeson and Lilli Sheldon and Arthur and Lila Scrase.

Joseph said "My trek up Snowdon is nothing in comparison to the mountains that the children & parents at the children’s hospital climb. Manchester’s children’s hospital sees 220,000 patients visit each year across a range of specialists including oncology, haematology, bone marrow transplant, burns, genetics and orthopaedics."

His mum Shelley added "We hope by getting more children involved we will raise even more money for the fantastic work at the children's hospital and by doing this we encourage even more children to get involved in next years challenge."

So far Joseph has raised over £10,000 for charities and all the money raised from this challenge will go to Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Charity.
