To coincide with National Gardening Week, Wilmslow Wells for Africa has unveiled this year's list of private gardens which will be opening their gates to the public for their annual fundraiser next month.

Between 10.30am and 4.30pm on Saturday 30th June, members of the public will have the opportunity to visit these beautiful gardens located in Wilmslow, Handforth and Alderley Edge.

The 19 gardens vary in size, from three acres to small cottage gardens, including both modern and traditional, and this year four new gardens will be participating.

Volunteer Grazyna Moore said "It is simply amazing that these hardworking gardeners have agreed to open up their gardens, share their enthusiasm for their gardens and support such a well deserved cause."

Wilmslow Wells is run entirely by volunteers and 99.2% of income is spent directly on projects such as simple wells, boreholes and rainwater harvesting equipment. Since the mid 1980's, they have raised over £1 million; funded 190 projects (many involving multiple wells) and spent less than £9,000 on running costs.

Tickets priced £10 are available in advance from Chelsea Flowers on Chapel Lane, Wilmslow and The Potting Shed in Alderley Edge. Alternatively they can be purchased for £12 on the day from any garden.

Refreshments will be served at St John's Church Rooms and in selected gardens.

Grazyna Moore added "So put the 30th of June into your diary and look at the wonderful, inspiring list and start planning your route."

The full list of gardens is available on the Wilmslow Wells website.
