Two men charged in relation to a burglary at Handforth off-licence

Officers from Macclesfield CID have charged two men in relation to a burglary at an off-licence in Handforth.

At approximately 2.20am on Monday, 16th April, officers were called to reports of suspicious activity at the GoLocal Store on Plumley Road, Handforth.

Officers attended the scene and found that four men had forced entry into the store and stolen a quantity of cigarettes, alcohol and cash.

Matthew Lowson, 25, and Anthony Taylor, 25, were both arrested on Monday, 16th April.

Following questioning, the pair have subsequently been charged with burglary other than a dwelling.

Lawson, of Greenbrow Road, Manchester, and Taylor, of Barnachre Avenue, Manchester, have both been remanded in custody and are set appear at South and East Cheshire Magistrates' later today, Wednesday 18 April.
