The Barnby Choir is hosting another of their popular singing days at Wilmslow Methodist Church next month.

Keith Orrell, director of the William Byrd Singers of Manchester and Vocal Projects Leader for Wigan Borough, will lead the choir through 'A Little Jazz Mass' on Saturday, February 10th.

Keith Orrell is also director of The Liverpool Welsh Choral Society and he was Chorus Master of the Halle Choir for many years.

He will be accompanied by Tim Walker who has over 25 years experience as a pianist, keyboard player, accompanist and organist. Tim obtained a Wirral Studentship Award aged 13 and since moving to Wilmslow 12 years ago he has become involved with musical theatre companies, as principal accompanist and subsequently Musical Director.

The piano accompanist will be joined by a bassist and percussionist in the afternoon to enhance the whole jazz experience.

Registration will be from 9.30am and a light lunch of soup and a bread roll will be available for £3, the profits from which will go to Wilmslow Wells for Africa. There will also be cakes and books for sale.

There will be an informal performance of the work at 4pm to which family and friends are invited, followed by tea and cake.

Singing tickets cost £20, including music hire, morning coffee and afternoon tea. Students are welcome at a cost of £5.
