Santa will be travelling around Wilmslow on his sleigh spreading Christmas cheer next week.

On Saturday, 9th December he will be outside Barclays Bank on Grove Street from 10am to 4pm then on Sunday, 10th December he will be in south Wilmslow (primarily on the east side of Knutsford Road) from 4.30pm to 7.30pm.

Santa will then be travelling around Pownall Park on Monday, 11th December, from 6.30pm to 9pm, and outside Barclays Bank again on Saturday 16th December from 10am to 4pm.

He will then be at Summerfields on Sunday 17th December from 4.30pm to 7.30pm.

Wilmslow Round Table have been have been touring the town with Santa and his sleigh for over 30 years. All the money raised from the collections will be split between the local scout and guide groups involved and Wilmslow Round Table, who will put the funds towards their annual senior citizens evening, which next year is being held on the Saturday 10th March at Honford Hall in Handforth.

Richard Hunter said "I am so happy that Wilmslow Round Table, with the support of local Scout and Guide groups, are able to continue this wonderful tradition of Santa's sleigh travelling around the streets of Wilmslow lighting up children's faces at this special time of year.

"If there are other local groups, such as PTA's or other Scout or Guide groups, that would like a slot in their area please feel free to contact us, as this is only possible with the wonderful support of the local community."

I hope he makes an appearance this year as last year when he visited the Summerfields he went down every road but ours which is not just a cul-de-sac by the way. My daughter could here him on the other roads and waited excitedly at the window for him but he was a no show!!!! She cried about why he had not visited her and had she been a bad girl etc.
I wont tell her this year just in case?

Hi Marc, I think - but perhaps someone from Round Table or Rotary Club can confirm - that the Summerfields door-to-door collection is being organised by the local Rotary Club, rather than the Round Table, who are mentioned above. The Round Table Summerfields appearance is likely to be a static one at the shopping centre. On the Rotary Club Facebook page they said they intend doing the Hazelwood Road area house-to-house collection on Wednesday 20th Dec between 18:00-20:00.

One thing I do know for definite, because I took the Round Table sleigh out in Pownall Park this last Monday (and have previously done the Summerfields ones a few years ago) - is that the house-to-house tours take quite a long time to cover an area and inevitably there isn't enough time available to cover every single road in the area before it gets too late.

I know it's disappointing when they miss you, but on Monday we had a few children (with their parents) who came out to meet Santa on his rounds to make sure they saw him. Perhaps you could do that on Wednesday?

I am delighted to confirm that Santa will be touring Summerfields on Sunday ably assisted by Wilmslow Round Table and Dean Row Guides. Whilst we always do our best to visit every road, time is always tight - between dusk and the time children go to bed and unfortunately that does mean that we are unable to reach everyone. We will however do our best.
