Handforth Parish Council has unanimously agreed to not increase the precept for the seventh year in a row.

Therefore the precept, the part of the council tax for Handforth residents which is charged by the Parish Council, for 2018/19 will remain at £85,000.

Councillor Cynthia Samson, Chair of Handforth Parish Council said "Handforth Parish Council unanimously resolved at their council meeting held on 14th November 2017 to keep the precept held at £85,000.00 for the financial year 18/19.

"Through sound financial management the council can continue to deliver all its devolved services at a local level without placing any extra burden on the taxpayers of Handforth. This precept level represents a slight reduction for a current Band D council tax property from £37.77 to £37.12 per year, when applying the new tax base."
