Today’s news that Police Chiefs have requested £400 million extra funding but are likely to receive £700 million LESS is something of a worry.

Pete - it is "something of a worry", - but then when I see the amount of money which is spent by the police in respect of employing communications officers and time "virtue signalling" on social media and holding meeting after meeting with "focus groups", then I wonder what we actually paying the police to achieve.
