New pizzeria opens on Water Lane

A neapolitan pizzeria has opened its doors on Water Lane this week.

Wood Fire Smoke serves sourdough pizzas which are made in front the customers and cooked in their wood-fired oven from Italy, taking less than a minute.

The 48 seat restaurant is a new venture for three locals - Rick Feery, Alex Rothwell and Sam Burrows who also run a mobile catering business, taking their mobile pizza ovens to weddings, markets and private parties.

Sam Burrows told wilmslow.co.uk "With the success of the mobile business we thought we would take the step to open a restaurant and having all grown up locally we thought Wilmslow would be the perfect choice. Rick who founded the business grew up in Alderley Edge and I grew up in Wilmslow with Alex being from Sale. We have a solid friends and family base here."

Rick was previously head chef at Piccolinos in Knutsford and Bramhall, Alex also has a background in the industry having worked on the floor of many restaurants whilst Sam, who joined the business two years ago, also owns a ski school in the French Alps.

Sam added "Our restaurant boasts a great emphasis on reasonable pricing on all pizzas and we want to make sure kids are always entertained, we have a built in kids pizza making area and our kids menus have been designed to keep them entertained throughout their meals."
