'Queen of Pilates' joins 15th anniversary celebrations

Celebration Week marked the 15th anniversary of Alderley Pilates dedicated studio in Nether Alderley last week.

In addition to a programme of taster sessions and workshops, one of the highlights was a visit by Lynne Robinson, founder of Body Control Pilates.

Lynne taught a class and then gave an interactive talk on the benefits of Pilates and was particularly keen to learn of the client's own experiences.

Studio Director, Jan Bowen said 'It was actually quite humbling to hear of the impact Pilates had made on peoples lives. In some cases helping them to overcome illness or injury but also to improve their posture and core strength and simply feel fitter and better about themselves."

Peter Bowen Studio Director commented "Lynne Robinson has a busy schedule since she does a lot of training abroad for Body Control Pilates so her current schedule was Alderley Edge, Japan and Hong Kong!"

Speaking about her visit, Lynne Robinson said "What a day! After struggling up from Kent ( Euston was closed) I arrived somewhat frazzled. Two minutes in the company of Peter and Jan at their beautiful relaxing studio and I felt refreshed.

"Then meeting their clients was pure joy. An inspiration and a reminder of why I love teaching Pilates. It changes lives!

"I was thrilled to be part of their 15th anniversary. Carry on the good work Peter and Jan!"

A second highlight of the week was a Fashion Show held in conjunction with exercise brand Sweaty Betty in their Water Lane shop, with help from Space NK who did the models makeup. The show featured the Autumn season collection modelled by teachers and clients from Alderley Pilates.

Peter said "I was just amazed at the sheer professionalism of the models and they looked fabulous. It was a wonderful evening. The mix of Pilates bodies and state of the art exercise clothing is a winning combination and a sensational look."

He added "We were also delighted to raise several hundred pounds for Cancer Research UK through a prize draw and thank all the Alderley Edge traders who supported this."

Jan commented "Our Autumn programme of small group classes, from Beginner to Advanced Pilates Matwork and private lessons including state of the art Reformer machines all taught by qualified Body Control Pilates teachers is now underway and there is still time to join classes.

"We are pleased to celebrate the link between Pilates and dance and are delighted to have two trained dancers as part of our team and include the Darcey Bussell Diverse Dance DDMIX and Pilates Barre in our programme. We also offer a specialist Back Class and all our classes help build Core Strength and flexibility as well as being absorbing and relaxing. So why not try a free sample class?
