A 17-year-old boy from Wilmslow has sadly died after he was struck by a train yesterday evening.
Officers from British Transport Police were called to Handforth station at approximately 6.50pm on Wednesday, 6th September.
They attended alongside paramedics from the North West Ambulance Service.
Specially trained family liaison officers have been deployed to support the family as they come to terms with this news.
This incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.
