Ellie goes a cut above to raise £1000 for children with cancer

A 16-year-old student from Wilmslow High School has had 15 inches of her hair cut off so she can donate it to The Little Princess Trust which provides real hair wigs free of charge to children that have sadly lost their own hair due to cancer treatment and other illnesses.

After being a volunteer for 'When You Wish Upon a Star' for just over two years, Ellie Harris was inspired to cut her hair and raised over £1000 for the charity which supports children battling life limiting illnesses.

Ellie told wilmslow.co.uk "I have seen so many brave children and have been truly touched by so many of their stories. It's an honour to say I have met them and spent time with them. It's been amazing to see what 'When You Wish Upon a Star' do for all the children and they need all the funding they can get so please please please donate as much as you can for this amazing charity!!

"I will be donating my hair to the 'Little Princess Trust' who create wigs for children who lose their hair due to their medical conditions."
