A little boy with a big heart scales Ben Nevis to raise £6000

A little boy with a big heart has completed his biggest challenge to date to help other children.

Seven year old Joseph Hibbert from Handforth been raising money for children's hospitals since the age of three.

So far he has run 7 races for charity but this month he swapped his running shoes for hiking boots and climbed Ben Nevis, the tallest mountain in the UK, which took him 9 hours.

Not only was this a long way for his little legs but the weather was terrible with gale force winds of 78 miles an hour, hale and rain.

His mum Shelley told wilmslow.co.uk "Joseph has raised over £6000 for this challenge and has already signed up another 5 children for his next mountain challenge in 2018.

"I believe this is thanks to your article so thank you once again from myself and Joseph."

So far Joseph has raised over £11,000 for charities. All the money raised from this climb will go to Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Charity.

Shelley added "Next year we are looking at Snowdon and hopefully we can get even more local children involved."
