Wilmslow Royal British Legion are holding a charity crown green bowling competition on Sunday 25th June.

The annual competition, now in its 6th year, is held in memory of Joe Broadhurst who was a life long member of the club. After he passed away the club decided to run a competition in his name, at the same time Robert West a member of club received the devastating news that his daughter had cancer. Robert and his family were helped throughout their ordeal by Clic Sargent, a children's cancer charity, so it was decided to run a charity competition where all profits from the competition would go to this charity.

Last year Wilmslow Royal British Legion raised over £1,000 and so far they have donated over £4,000 to Clic Sargent.

Spectators are welcome to go along and enjoy the event at Wilmslow Royal British Legion, on Grove Avenue, which starts at 10am and runs through to about 7pm.

Mark Sandham said "If you fancy a cup of tea or coffee why not pop along with the knowledge you will be supporting a charity for young children with cancer."
