Over 300 of the industries finest representatives in Cheshire packed in to the Pavilion at Chester Racecourse to find out the winners of the 2017 Taste Cheshire Awards on the evening of Wednesday the 19th April.
Over 44,000 votes were cast by the public and the final four nominations in each category were mystery dined or shopped by industry experts to award Gold, Silver and Bronze in each of the categories.
Taste Cheshire General Manager Lisa Edwards said "This was an incredible array of Cheshire talent and we are proud to be promoting the true "Taste of Cheshire" through these industry important awards."
The Lambing Shed Farm Shop in Knutsford was given The Best Local Produce Shop Gold Award, which was sponsored by Shop Cheshire.
The Mystery judge who visited The Lambing Shed Farm Shop said in their overview: "Outstanding! Local produce everywhere, in the shop and in the café. The Story of why local produce is important and the journey produce takes and the carbon footprint and effect on the local economy and health all displayed clearly but not in an oppressive way. Manages to be very fashionable with delicious food and slick and friendly service without being obtrusive or over the top. Beef and Lamb from the same farm and all other meats from neighbouring farms. Hugely impressed with the whole place. A deserved winner."
General Manager of The Lambing Shed Farm Shop and Farmer's Daughter Kathryn Mitchell said "We were absolutely thrilled to find out we had won on the evening, and so surprised, it's so nice to win an award like this and for our staff to be congratulated, as they work exceptionally hard. We can't thank our customers enough for their support over the last 18 months since we opened."
