Police are urging residents to make sure they lock their homes, vehicles and also their garden sheds to help prevent would-be thieves from accessing items that could be used to gain entrance to their homes.
Sometime between 11.30pm on Sunday 5th February and 7.35am on Monday 6th February offenders forced their way into a property on Manchester Road in Wilmslow by smashing the living room window. They made an untidy search and stole a purse, handbag, golf equipment, watches, debit cards, laptops, keys and a vehicle.
An attempted burglary took place on Cumber Lane on Monday 6th February between 12 noon and 6pm. A pair of ladders have been moved from the shed and placed on the patio at the rear of the property. No entry was gained and nothing taken.
Some time between 12 noon on Friday 3rd February and 5pm on Friday 10th February offenders forced a UPVC kitchen door to gain entry to a house on Russet Way in Alderley Edge. It is unknown at this time what was taken.
There was also an attempted burglary on Hawthorn Lane between February 1st and February 10th when suspects tried to force the back door. They failed to gain entry and nothing was taken.
PCSO Sarah Stanley said "In three of these incidents items were taken from sheds or gardens and used to either try to gain entry or gain entry.
"Please secure or lock garden gates and sheds to prevent suspects from gaining access to items that can be used to get into homes."
Another attempted burglary took place on Moor Lane, Wilmslow on Sunday 12th February. At 2.25am a white male aged 40 to 50 years old walked into a residential property via the front door which was insecure. Upon entry the male has been seen by the occupant who was downstairs at the time. He then tran off towards the Rifleman's arms. The male was wearing black shoes, an Adidas tracksuit, grey fleece and a brown cap.
PCSO Sarah Stanley said "Please remember to lock your doors even if you at home and awake. Anyone with information about suspicious person(s) or vehicles in the area at the time please call 101 quoting incident 124 12/02/2017."
A black BMW was stolen without keys from a driveway on Hazelwood Road, Wilmslow between 10pm on Thursday 16th February and 8.30am on Friday 17th February.
Anyone with information is asked to call 101 and quote incident number 176 17/02/2017.
PCSO Stanley added "BMWs seem to be targeted at the moment so please take extra care when parking up at night, make sure they are secure and keys are left out of sight in the home."
