Stolen machinery and Land Rovers recovered in Wilmslow

Cheshire Police recovered stolen plant machinery and vehicles from land in Wilmslow this week.

Police attended a Wilmslow address on Wednesday morning (16th January) where they discovered two excavation diggers and a tipper truck. Whilst searching the land they also found two Land Rovers. All of the vehicles have been identified as having been stolen from Cheshire and the Greater Manchester area over recent months.

PC Richard Walker said "The equipment and vehicles, which are highly valuable and most importantly vital for the businesses they assist, are being returned to their owners.

"There have been no arrests as yet and enquiries are ongoing."

Police advise owners to paint equipment in their corporate colours to make it less attractive to thieves; mark parts with a unique number; consider fitting a secure plate bearing your company's details and a 24-hour telephone number so the police can call to check plant equipment they see on the move; register items with an approved recognised database and, where appropriate, consider having a Thatcham Cat 5 security system fitted.
