Halloween bash raises a spooktacular £750

Wilmslow Animal Sanctuary opened the doors of their 'Spooky Barn' on Saturday, 29th October, for their annual Halloween event.

Supporters of the Sanctuary were invited along with their little witches and wizards to enjoy 'gruesome' games, tombola's, 'fiendish' face painting, yucky dips and lots more. Refreshments were also available throughout the afternoon which included homemade Halloween cakes and goodies kindly baked and donated by the Sanctuary's volunteers and supporters.

Ghost hunters were encouraged to don their best fancy dress for a chance of winning a prize and they didn't fail to impress.

Nicola Foster, Volunteer at the Animal Sanctuary, said "A great day was had by all and the event raised a magnificent £750 which will go towards the running costs this year. The Animal Sanctuary is a small, local charity that does not receive any government or lottery funding; instead, to keep rescuing, providing medical care and love to animals in need, we rely solely on money raised from the kind hearted local community and supporters.

"By holding events such as these we can give back to the community by having fun whilst raising vital funds. We would like to say a big thank you to all of our hard working staff and volunteers that made the event possible and to the families that came along and took part, we really couldn't do it without your support."
