As previously reported on wilmslow.co.uk, the post office and Tesco Express store on Alderley Road are temporary closed whilst the premises undergoes an extensive refurbishment.

The post office closed on Saturday 1st October 2016 and was due to reopen on Monday, 24th October. However, due to delays with removing all the asbestos the re-opening date has been delayed. The branch is now scheduled to reopen on Monday, 31st October at 1pm.

A Post Office spokesperson said: We apologise for the delay in the reopening of Wilmslow Post Office due to the ongoing refurbishment of the premises. Customers can access Post Office services at any alternative branch including Handforth Post Office and Alderley Edge Post Office."

The Tesco Express store is now due to open on Tuesday, 1st November.

Tesco spokesperson Mark Thomas said, "The work on our newly revamped Wilmslow store and improved Post Office has unfortunately taken a little longer than anticipated. We're sorry for any inconvenience this has caused and we look forward to welcoming customers in early November."
