Whilst in attendance at this year's Wilmslow Motor Show on Saturday, 24th September, police officers issued 12 Fixed Penalty Notices.

Officers from the Cheshire Police Roads Policing Team issued these for a variety of offences though quite a few were for not displaying number plates, which has resulted in the drivers being fined £100.

Additionally two Section 59 Warning Notices were issued for driving inappropriately.

Roads Policing Officer Inspector Liz Cunningham said: Whilst in attendance at this year's Wilmslow Motor Show we issued a number of fixed penalty notices to owners of vehicles which were not displaying the correct licence plates.

She added "We would like to take this as an opportunity to remind all road users that it is a legal requirement to have number plates on both the front and rear of your vehicle and all licence plates must be in accordance with the DVLA regulations."

None for parking on pavements etc. Is it a record for one day?

Entrapment . When will the police do something about the many motorists driving at night with faulty headlights? See it every time I drive at night; seems like nicking people at the car show for offences that do not endanger life is an easier option for them? Pathetic isn't it?

Cheshire Police you have lost out here. Advice could have been given to all these people. The show is trying to help put Wilmslow back on the shoppers map, we should not be driving people away from coming down next time to show their vehicles.
You have enough local issues to concentrate on. Burglary figures seem to be on the rise, use your anpr and traffic resources to tackle the burglars who are using the roads to come into the area to target houses. Stop taking the easy option to push up your stats!!

If you drive illegally and are caught then you can't argue. You can argue that there is a lack of consistency.

Absolutely pathetic this event brought 35000 people to Wilmslow according to the papers and gave all the businesses a much needed boost. The drivers that attended did so for free and also raised a lot of money for charity. Maybe next year they will just stay away !!
I even saw on lady pcso stop a ambulance with its lights on and ask him where he was going.
Get a life GMP its only once a year

So many of the so called "supercar" owners think they are above the law just because they paid over £100000 for a car, well, they have just found out, they are not.
