More than 300 boys and girls from the age of six upwards started the new rugby season at Wilmslow on Sunday, 4th September, with a family fun day.

Additionally, hundreds of parents were present to renew old acquaintance and to watch the events which included giant inflatable slides, bouncy castles, obstacle courses, basketball and a horizontal bungy.

Mini and Junior section chairman, Jason Sankey said "We're all looking forward to a successful and enjoyable season."

WRUFC has Mini teams at every age group from Under 6 to Under 12 and Junior teams from Under 13 to Under 16. Each age group follows the RFU player pathway for children which takes them from non contact tag rugby at Under 6 right through to the full fifteen aside adult game at U16.

Team training and practice starts next weekend for the minis, whilst the first Junior matches for Under 13s upwards take place on Sunday, 11th September.
