Wilmslow Community Fire Station will be throwing open the station doors to the public for a free event that promises something for everyone on Saturday, August 27th.

There will be plenty on display at the fire station on Altrincham Road from 10am to 3pm, including fire engines old and new, police vehicles, the line rescue team from Knutsford and mechanical toy fire engine, Red Cross and a crashed car on a trailer. There will be a road traffic collision demonstration and stalls for visitors to browse.

Watch Manager Ben Wood, who is organising the open day, said: "This is a great way for the community to discover more about their local fire station. We would like as many people as possible to come along to our open day, have a great time and leave with some vital fire and road safety messages."

Firefighters will be joined on the day by other community groups and refreshments will be available to buy. Admission is free.

Pete - This is a specialist team and vehicle that go to incidents where people need rescuing from such places as height or water etc. The team use specialist climbing equipment and lines, hence the name.
