Drinking for good causes at Styal Beer Festival

Styal Beer Festival, which started as a one off event eight years ago, has become a popular date in the diary for many people.

This year's event saw the festival offering 65 local ales, along with lager and a range of wine, cider and soft drinks. Whilst enjoying the various beverages on offer guests were entertained by six acts who played over the two days, plus a tug-of-war competition took place each evening.

Laura Cockitt commented "The atmosphere was fantastic both nights, with everyone enjoying themselves."

The event is organised by a team of volunteers to help raise money for the Styal Football Club. As well as raising funds for the club, the event also raised over £2000 for Macmillan, East Cheshire Hospice and St Ann's Hospice charities with a raffle, bouncy castle and face painting.
