The 24th annual Handforth Village Show, organised by Handforth Gardening Society, will take place at Honford Hall on South Acre Drive on Saturday 16th July.

There are many classes for people to exhibit in, including flowers, pot plants, flower arranging, fruit and vegetables, cookery, photography, painting and crafts.

There is also a section for children aged 12 years and under with classes for flowers in an recycled container; a vegetable animal (using at least three vegetables or fruit) and a miniature garden in a full size seed tray.

Simon Poucher, Secretary of Handforth Gardening Society, said "You don't need to be an experienced exhibitor to participate. Everyone is welcome to have a go at demonstrating their horticultural, artistic or culinary skills."

If people would like to exhibit at the show, a schedule can be obtained from Woods Paper Shop, Handforth or from the Handforth Gardening Society website.

Entries need to be in by Wednesday 13th July. Staging of exhibits begins at Honford Hall, Handforth at 10.00am and the show is open to the public from 2pm to 4pm. Entrance is free.

Alderman Barry Burkhill said "The Village Show is a central part of the Handforth community activities."

Full details of the classes within the section can be found on the Handforth Gardening Society website.
