Local choir joins Wilmslow's 'The Voice' on stage

Some of Wilmslow's singing residents performed together on Wednesday, 15th June.

Classical singer Russell Watson appeared at the William Aston Hall in Wrexham ably supported by the lovely ladies of Cheshire A Cappella.

Mr Watson often invites choirs from the region to sing a number of his well-known 'Songs from the Heart' at his concerts and Cheshire A Cappella were over the moon to have been asked to perform at this event.

Kate Ravenscroft from the choir explains "We were going to sing with Russell at the end of last month over in New Brighton", but Russell was poorly and sadly had to cancel his performance. So we were absolutely delighted to have been asked again and completely enjoyed our time on stage with him.

"Singing operatic classics like Funiculi, Funicula and Amore e Musica took us out of our normal comfort zone. But we love a challenge! And we must have done well, as even Russell said he'd be pleased if we'd sing with him again, perhaps on next year's Tour."
