Waters Wilmslow Half Marathon's chosen charity is the winner

It may be over two months since the Waters Wilmslow Half Marathon graced the leafy lanes of Wilmslow and Mobberley, but the nominated charity, The Christie are still counting the pounds raised by their many runners and supporters as a result of this year's race.

Sinead Kennedy-Peers, sporting events officer for The Christie charity said: "We're delighted to have raised over £55,000 for The Christie in the 2016 Waters Wilmslow Half Marathon. We'd like to pass on our thanks to everyone involved, the participation and support from our fundraisers has been incredible."

Nick Bishop, speaking on behalf of the Waters Wilmslow Half Marathon said: "We're delighted to have been able to work with The Christie Foundation, have some fun along the way and at the same time raise a substantial sum for this fabulous charity".

The 2017 race will take place on Sunday 19th March with entries opening in September and Manchester Royal Children's Hospital has been chosen as the is nominated charity.
