Friends of Handforth Station would like to invite all passengers and local people of all ages to participate in a drop-in ideas and design session.

People are being asked to go to Handforth Station between 10am and 12noon on Saturday, 18th June, to let the Friends know what Handforth means to you and what sort of design you would like to see on the new entrance archways at the top of stairs.

James Mander said "Friends of Handforth Station (FoHS) are building on the success of the 'Platform for Art' programme and the unique 'Art in the Box' installations. FoHS are asking local people for their help in designing our next project - two new permanent arches at the top of each of the stairs leading down to the north and south platforms.

"All the contributions from the workshop will help inspire the final design of the arches that will be enjoyed by local residents and visitors to Handforth."

Local residents are invited to bring their ideas, sketches or images to help design the next art work at Handforth Railway Station.

Artist Christine Wilcox-Baker will be on hand to help with the design and will be bringing all the ideas together.

James added "We look forward to seeing you on Saturday 18th June 2016. If you cannot attend but would like to submit your ideas or design please email me."

The Friends of Handforth Station will also be holding a tidy-up session at the station from 10am to 12noon to coincide with the workshop.
