Lindow Cricket Club played host to six local primary schools competing for the newly created 'Lindow Cup' on Tuesday, 3rd May.

Teams from Alderley Edge Community Primary, Ashdene Primary, Dean Oaks Primary, Lindow Community Primary, St Benedict's Catholic Primary and Wilmslow Grange Primary took part, with Ashdene beating St Benedict's in the final to be crowned champions.

The day was organised by Joanna Espley, Junior Secretary at Lindow Cricket Club, and she was delighted with the first version of the new tournament.

Joanna said "We already do a lot of coaching with the local schools, but felt that hosting a new competition would give children the opportunity to enjoy our facilities and for many give them a first taste of cricket. The children really enjoyed themselves, so we consider the day was a great success and it is our intention for it to now be an annual event."
