A group of friends who started busking in 2011 have raised an incredible £250,000 for Cancer Research UK in just five years.

Loose Change Buskers, who have regularly entertained the crowds of shoppers at Wilmslow Artisan Market, are dedicated to making a difference in the fight against cancer in their community, by doing what they do best, playing music!

Led by Bernard Dolan and Jon Fogel, the 30-strong group give up almost every weekend of the year to stand in the wind, rain, hale, snow and occasionally sunshine to play to the people throughout South Manchester.

Regularly they not only play Saturday and Sunday all day, but in the evening too. Throughout 2015 they played 132 gigs for Cancer Research UK.

Jon Fogel said "Over the years we have played many times at the Artisan Market and the Wilmslow public generosity has been a big help in reaching this target."

Denise Valente, of The Market Co, said "Loose Change Buskers are quite an outstanding inspiration.

"Volunteers who take nothing from the money donated. They cover all their own expenses and do it for the love of it in the knowledge that they are raising much needed funds to save peoples lives.

"I do hope we can entice them back to Wilmslow in the very near future."
