Jujitsu team shines in national championships

The British Jujitsu National Championship was held on Saturday, 30th April, in Walsall and the Wilmslow club secured six medals.

Ben Fazelynia won gold in Random Attack whilst Ellie Harris won silver for Kata and bronze in Continuous Fighting. Both Euan McAndry and Eric Nelson won silver in Continuous Fighting and Eric also picked up a silver in Kata whilst Robert Davies won bronze in Continuous Fighting.

Following on from their success at the national Championships six Wilmslow youths are now signed up to compete in the United Nations Jujitsu Championships in October and have intensive training sessions over the coming months to ensure that they are fighting fit and ready for success.

The club are organising a number of events to raise money to fund the trip for the youths who all need to be accompanied by an adult to the event. Their first event will take place at WIlmslow Leisure Centre on Saturday, 7th May, 7th when members of the club will be doing sponsored hip throws, cake sales and a bake off to raise money for the trip and also their chosen Charity this year 'When you wish upon a Star'.
